Dusk/Dawn

Here’s an awesome YouTube video that Allan Hagen and Dan Buck did together. This was a project they did to commemorate the first deck of Magic-Con Cards opened, and I’d say it turned out pretty nice. Allan also posted an interesting clip on Twitter showing the before and after effects of the color grading he did.

Projected Living Room

I recently came across this video and found it quite interesting. There’s a set of living room furniture, all white. Then two projectors are set up to project over this plain furniture. This creates a ” real-life skinning effect”, as the page says.

The room changes themes, colors, walls, and floors in a matter of seconds. Depending on how difficult or time consuming this actually is to set up, I wonder if it could be used for backdrops or scenery for projects pertaining to magic. Or what other possibilities lie within projecting videos onto the surfaces… very good food for thought.

Genesis v2 :: Interlock

Interlock is the third installment in Genesis v2 previews. It’s a flourishy way to cut the deck on the back of your hand. Well, hands. Looks related to the Backpack cut.

Interlock

Andrei’s been holding onto this one for quite a while, as we saw it in his famous THE’ME video he posted on YouTube in 2008.
We’ve seen three small moves now, hopefully Theory11 will release a more complex one soon.

Genisis v2:: Recovery

Theory11 has given us a another glimpse of a move from Gensis v2. The first was Stardust, which is discussed in the previous post. The second disc is looking more and more promsing.

Card in Fan Recovery

This move is called Card in Fan Recovery. Looks like a nice little piece of eye-candy. In the comments on the video, Andre said,

“There are some very difficult moves on Genesis v2, but this one is one of the easier ones to learn – but looks awesome!”

Check it out here.

Genesis v2 :: Stardust

Theory 11 recently made an exciting news update pertaining to cardistry. They released a clip from Andre Jikh’s DVD series Genesis, from the second volume. The clip is titled Stardust. The first DVD was amazing. It provided an excellent source to build a strong base for cardistry and flourishing. I’m hoping we’ll get to see a bit more of his advanced repertoire in this next installment. In regards to a releaste date, Theory11 only gave us an ambiguous “VERY SOON”.

Here’s the news post and a link to the clip: http://www.theory11.com/news/genesis-v2-stardust/
